We Are Here by Emilie Shapiro is a contemporary jewelry and body adornment line. She is inspired by the creative process and her ever-changing surroundings through travel and her home. Emilie considers herself an alchemist – instilling value, ideas, and ideals into her pieces for the wearer to carry on. Emilie likes to play with negative space in her designs and incorporate them as part of the design. Her inspirations are drawn from textures of nature and the energy of elements coming together. All of her work is crafted with recycled materials in her studio in New York City.
About the Artist

Emilie received her B.F.A. in Art + Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at Alchimia, a contemporary school of jewelry in Florence, Italy with artists Peter Bauhuis, Yoko Shimizu, and Marzia Rossi. Before launching her own jewelry line – Emilie worked as the Production Manager at Pamela Love and Allforthemountain. Emilie is also a jewelry instructor at Liloveve Jewelry Studio in Brooklyn, NY and teaches various jewelry workshops around the Greater NY area as well as private jewelry lessons in her NYC studio.
